We are excited to introduce an important update to our network—Priority Prospect now supports the use of both hostnames and IP addresses for custom hosts. This enhancement provides greater flexibility for our customers who manage their own web servers for hosting websites.
What Does This Mean for You?
A custom host within our system refers to your own web server, where your website’s content is served. Previously, our network only allowed the use of IP addresses, directing all domain traffic to the designated server. However, as the web landscape evolves and customer needs change, we have expanded our capabilities to include hostname support.
Why Is This Important?
In certain hosting configurations, using a static IP address is not always feasible, particularly when working with load balancers or CDN services where IP addresses may change dynamically. With this update, you can now configure your custom host using a hostname, such as my-lb.hostname.com, and our system will automatically resolve it within our network. This ensures a seamless and reliable experience while maintaining optimal network performance.
